G/F Car Crash

So my girlfriend, Dani, was about to go on a cruise with her family to end her spring break this weekend. She's driving with her roommate from Daytona to Miami to meet up with her family, and a guy is driving really wild in a pickup truck on I85. She moves to the far left lane to get away from him since he was in the far right. Another car was in the middle lane between them. The pickup cuts off the middle car and moves all the way over into the left lane where Dani was. She got pushed off into the gravel shoulder and got turned sideways. Her Rav 4 fliped 4 times in the median and landed toward traffic in the opposite lanes. Neither girls were wearing their seatbelts. Her roommate was lucky to have survived with only cuts to her arms since she put them in front of her to protect herself in the roll. She also has some bruising. Dani walked away with just a few scratches. The truck driver drove off and neither got the plates, which is completely understandable.

They took Dani to the hospital and the oficers and doctors say they're shocked she didn't die in the roll. Somehow she came away almost untouched. She said she feels like she has a second chance on life. Her car was just paid off ($9000) a couple months ago and the KBB value is only $5000. But thats negligible considering the beating it took to keep my lady safe.

But this stress release isnt to bitch about the fact that she got wiped out by some crazy driver. This thread is to say that sometimes you realize that all the other bullshit in life doesn't matter. My current situation in life is considerably uncomfortable and alot of little stuff has seemed to not go my way. But when my lady called me and told me what happened all I could do was think about what I would've done if instead I had gotten a call from her family telling me what happened. I'm in a better mood than I've been in a long time. I'm gonna go down and see her as soon as I get my car together. She told me after the flips happened and she came to, the first thing she thought about was me. Thats the greatest thing anyone has ever said to me. I'm just so glad she's okay. Sorry to not depress everyone as usual. I know this breaks the rules of Stress Release... well tough cookies

I'm glad to hear she came out of it relatively unscathed mate. Sounds like the sort of thing to really put life in perspective.

What did this fucktard do to force her off the road?

Do you think she'll wear a seatbelt next time?

Re: G/F Car Crash

She said he swerved over as if she wasn't even in the lane. He may have actually hit the side of her truck before she tried to swerve away. I wonder if she would have been better off hitting her brakes instead of swerving, but hindsight is 20/20 and she's ok so it really is irrelevant at this point imo... except for insurance purposes.

She said her crash was on te news since it held up traffic on both sides of I85 for about a half hour. A guy in the other lanes ran into somebody rubbernecking Dani's crash

And for God's sake I hope she wears her seatbelt from now on. I know I will.

Re: G/F Car Crash

My heart sank as I read that.

I'm really happy for you that your gf, and her friend survived. They are very very lucky. God was definitely watching over them.

I hope you bug her about wearing her seatbelt from now on. I'm talking about calling her 2 minutes after she leaves somewhere and ask her.

My friend didn't wear his seatbelt and I always made a comment to him. Now he has a new truck and it buzzes until he puts it on.

I always wear a seatbelt since I rolled my grand am, I wore one during it, but not always before. Glad to hear the girls are ok, and hope the catch that dude. I hate people like that.

Re: G/F Car Crash

^^very true indeed. They are lucky to be alive.

There are too many people driving like jerks these days. I know everybody makes mistakes but it seems like everybody is now making them at the same time. I'm no mathematician but it seems like the probability of disaster is increasing exponentially. I'm really glad your girl is okay, man. That guy will get what he deserves soon enough I'm sure.

Glad they got lucky. I hate it when someone gets hurt for no particular fault.
