GTP vs Mustang SVO

Well you can sure tell its getting nice out. I'm starting to get some good races in.

I was just sitting at a light behind some old guy in a newer Camry. I was checking it out because it's OK looking, I guess. Anyway I hear something pull up beside me. When I look over I see an older Mustang and it sounded kinda strange to me. To be honest I thought it was POS at first.

I see the guy check out my GTP badge and look over at me. I figure what the hell if he's game I am to. It happened pretty fast. He gets ahead enough for me to get behind him and thats when I saw the SVO badge on the back and the double fin thing.

I'm no dummy I have always liked those but I really didnt think much of it neither. Kinda cocky still from my MS6 race. He lets me get beside him were I mean this car's turbo was loud and you could tell he had exhaust. Anyway, when I get beside him He is already in the gear he wants I assume 2nd which was where I was at. We get into it and by time I was putting into third he was about right at my passenger side door. By time we were going 110 he was ahead by about a car and really starting to pull. He went ahead and shut down being he prooved his point.

I was really impressed and happy with the loss because it was a nice car... I gave him thumbs up and turned around to go home....

Re: GTP vs Mustang SVO

Nice loss. Those SVO mustangs are no joke. Their engines are super easy to mod. Most likely he wasn't stock.

Re: GTP vs Mustang SVO

yeah those old 2.3l engines were tough as nails. ive seen em go over 450k miles. so they can take some abuse, and i imagine a lot of boost. good race.

Re: GTP vs Mustang SVO

ahh the only 4 banger mustang that should have ever been created. Nice lose, yeah ive seen those things in the 12's with just upping the boost and some tunning. Those cars were made to handle as well, they are no fool on an autocross course.

Re: GTP vs Mustang SVO

I have an article in one of these MMFF magazines from a couple months ago, and they have an SVO running mostly on junkyard salvaged upgrades, and the thing is running low 11s with like 460 HP or something rediculous. The same guy said he owns and modifies 5.0 Mustangs and he hasn't been able to reproduce that kind of performance for the money. SVO mustangs......RESPEK
