2001 S430 Radio

I have a 2001 S430 and when I am driving down the road the the sound just stops coming out of the speakers. It does not matter if I have the radio or the cd player playing. The radio stays powered on and I hear no funny noises from the radio. Does anyone have an answer for this problem?

Thank you in advance,

Troy

It sounds like your sound amp is going out. unfortunately I don't know of any way to test it other that trying a new amp. it is located in the trunk on the left side.

Re: 2001 S430 Radio

Does it come right back or not until the car is shut off and restarted ? If so, go to the rear fuse box located at the right rear passenger floor area behind the floor light. It just pops out. With the key removed, pull the 7.5 amp fuse - it should be the only 7.5 amp in that fuse box. I believe it's the 3rd fuse from the drivers side. Pull it for 30 seconds then reinstall and restart.
