automatic transmission have clutch packs whereas a manual transmission has gears in it. you will need to find a manual transmission and of course a clutch+pressure plate to convert.
The key difference between a manual and an automatic transmission is that the manual transmission locks and unlocks different sets of gears to the output shaft to achieve the various gear ratios, while in an automatic transmission, the same set of gears produces all of the different gear ratios. The planetary gearset is the device that makes this possible in an automatic transmission.

Re: Transmission Question

I think he was talking about changing from an auto to a stick scoopy03......

It is possible with the 4cyl, unless you find a v6 with a stick and they are few and far between.

Thier should already be a clutch pedal braket fabed into the firewall. So you would have to swap out several things to get it to work, on a 4cyl.

And Welcome to AF 1982 CutlassCalais !
