Hi Everyone, I am making a 2 piece mold using some (cheap) modeling clay and silicon rubber. I had cast the first side of the mold.
And now I had trouble cleaning up the clay on the model. Had try a couple of method , like soaking in very concentrated washing powder, metyl spirit. The surface of the model is very greasy right now and I need to find a way to remove the remain clay on my model. Can anyone give me some suggestion! Thx |

Re: Help! Clean up cheap modeling clay after mold making
Change your brand of modelling clay. The stuff I use just peels away form the silicone with no trouble and no resdiue.
To clean this one use anything that comes to mind that isn't goint to interact with the silicone. However, If I were you, I'd pour a test cast. When you demold you will probably find that the resin takes away most of the left overs with it very effectively
