shifter conversion 70 chevy truck

i might be buying a 70 chevy c-10 with a 350 and three on the tree manual tranny and i was wondering what all i would have to do to it in order to convert the heiffer to a floor shifter. i have heard that all you have to do is buy a hurst shifter or whatever and pop the sumbitch in there and i suppose hack saw the old shifter knob off... any ideas?

The shift lever has a pin that you have to drive out. Also drop the existing linkage off the column from under the hood and at the tranny. The hardest part is making the hole in the floor, but some models (that had the HD 4-speed option) used to have "knock out" patches which made it easier.
