1993 - 4x4 318+Trans in a 1994

My 1994 Dodge 1500 Truck has about 164,000 miles on it.

The trans slips between 2nd & 3rd, & the engine needs some TLC...okay, a LOT of TLC.

I have the possibility of picking up (no pun intended) a 1993 parts-truck 318cui V8 with a good trans, but its currently on a 4x4 chassis.

Will this 93 Engine & Trans work in the 94 with little to no modifications, or is it gonna be a much bigger hassle than I really want to deal with.

The 1994 Truck isn't a looker, but its a good truck that we do use for haulin' materials & towing things.

I know the body-change was at that 1993/1994 changeover, but would the engine/trans combo work as well? The 1994 trans apparently had a lot of troubles and i'd rather go with the reliable-factor vs. the year-match.

Thanks...
