Again the Car wont start....
Hey whats up guys....So i know this doesnt have to do with my DSM but my Dad's Land Rover isnt starting. The lights turn on as well as the radio so that tells me it cant be the battery. So im thinking its the starter....It basically makes a clicking noise the first time i try to start the bitch up and a little decreasing vrooooon sound.....after that it barely clicks and makes the sound....decreasing each time i try it consecutively....
Any suggestions????

Re: Again the Car wont start....
Well, you either have a bad battery or bad alternator. Just because the lights come one, doesnt mean the battery has jack shit for charge. Have the battery checked at Checker or Napa or something and see whats up. If the battery is good, check the alternator. I seriously doubt its anything but one of those.

Look at the battery wire, you should probably have two wires coming off the positive terminal. One should run to a fuse box, the other to the starter. Check the wire running to the starter. Make sure it isn't nicked or pinched anywhere. Make sure that the battery terminals are also free of any corrosion and are tight on the battery posts. Turn on the lights and push the brakes, if the lights dim, the battery is in need of a good charge or has a bad cell. If your battery turns out fine and/or jumpstarting fails(just the clicking noise still), locate the starter. After finding the starter, take a medium-large adjustable wrench, and beat on the side of the starter for a few seconds. Try and start the car, if it turns over any more than it originally did, you need a starter.
