Re: Little info big problem

Only people that will know about buckshot (Rick Blackford) are people from www.contour.org. Theres about 3 of us over here that just help the newbs out. Both myself and Rick are moderators over on the CEG forums. He actually built my motor for my turbo setup. Great guy.

Anyways, to me it sounds like a minor vacuum leak or a PCV issue. I know it can be hard to remember where everything goes back together when you do a 3.0L swap. The MAF shouldnt be an issue.

Well, generally if its an intake leak you can hear it. Hopefully you replaced all the gaskets when you replaced the engine. The intake manifold gaskets get pretty nasty over time and its recommended you replace them even if you pull the UIM/LIM. Check the other gaskets connecting to the manifold like the throttle body, EGR, IAC. Generally you can just put your head down by it and listen. Make sure the brass pipe coming off the bottom of the upper intake manifold below the throttle body has the rubber tube tightly secured. That one is easy to miss. Make sure the two plastic hoses running to the top of the manifold (right after throttle body) are secure. Sometimes the plastic quick-connects become brittle. Do the RPM's studder and then rise back up to say 2K RPMs or so?
