1959 silvercloud shift linkage help

I have a 1959 silvercloud that I have been working on for the last year and a half and I really need some help. I have got this car ready to go for a test drive except for my shift linkage, I have one piece that is there for support and I cannot figure out were it goes I am hoping that someone out there has the same year car and could take a picture of the piece in question to solve this mystery for me. The car I have is left hand drive.
I have acquired a lot of information about this particular year model car and have found many good sources of parts for it. I am happy to help others out there their projects.
