Whats the best cleaner for oil on driveway?

I had some stuff I got locally that worked well but can't seem to find it anymore and heck, I don't even remember what it's called, just would recognize it if I saw it. What out there is good to get new and old oil stains off a drive way. I'll order it online if I have to but it would be nice to get something locally. Thanks.

I haven't seen anything to get out the older stains; but I use kitty litter for sopping up the spill in the first place, and that seems to keep the staining to a minimum.

Id try a degreasing spray like 2.2 said. When I do oil changes and spill, we throw oil-dry on it, cat litter works just as good, you could also get pig mat, but I'm sure its expensive, but will soak up a lot of oil.

Re: Whats the best cleaner for oil on driveway?

we have a big steel 2'x3' baking tray which we put under anything that could leak oil, or when it's being changed so no problems with big leaks and patches.

i find spray degreaser (foaming) works fine, spray lots on in the oil patch (after soaking up as much as possible) and then using the hose to wash everything away.

Re: Whats the best cleaner for oil on driveway?

So does the foaming degreaser or brake clean take care of the old oil stains (couple years old) as well?

Re: Whats the best cleaner for oil on driveway?

no idea, if we get an oil stain we clean it up in about 5 minutes.

there aren't any old stains on the driveway. a pressure washer and something like Jeyes Fluid should remove old stains though.

Re: Whats the best cleaner for oil on driveway?

I just bought a house that has an old stain in the garage. I bought this stuff at Lowes that is like a degreaser/foamer. I'm going to try it out soon to see if it works at all and will post. If it doesn't work then it'll stay covered over I guess.
