So ummm....What?

So here I am. My name is Jay. And I'll come right out and say it. I am a newbie to the import tuner community. And just for the record I am quite wit it...lol. Anywho, I currently own a 95' 240sx which is currently my project vehicle (It has no engine/transmission and the interior has been completely redone) like I said, project vehicle. Anywho, I have never owned or even worked on a import vehicle, so my expertise in this area is quite limited. I just know what I like, which is one of the main reasons I was attracted to the tuner world, all the countless things I could do to a tuner car and just how sexy they can look when all is said and done. I kinda betrayed my die hard V8 roots when I set out to learn about imports (sorta of a know your enemy kinda thing) anyway, in my course of study I simply fell in love, at first with the fourth generation toyota supra, like many others I suppose. Just some info to know a little about me. Well on to why I'm here. I'm here because I plan to swap the engine from the car I originally fell in love with (2JZ-GTE) into my 95' 240sx. Not that uncommon I imagine, but I think it would be awesome. I was quoted a price of $5500.00 from a company called Zerolift on the east coast. That includes the 2JZ-GTE engine, 6 speed transmission, wiring harness and computer. And all other necessary hardware to complete the swap. Just looking for some general feedback on this as well as suggestions. More to come soon....So stay tuned.....lol opcorn:

Re: So ummm....What?

well im going to help you out my newbie friend...dont use the 6 speed tranny, its to long...#2...use a r154 tranny, and get an extension from 2jzswap.com...#3 welcome..

and expect to pay a MINIMUM of 9k on the swap...thats if you go cheap...im at around 12k into the swap right now...but thats because im gangsta. lol

and 2jz swaps are not common...as most people dont want to dish out 9k+ for the swap (understandable)

hopefully about this time next week i'll be making a HOW TO for the 2jz swap...
