2001 z24 lil input

ok so my buddy just bought a 01 z24 and he needs a code to get the stereo to work..does any1 know how to get this functional? also when he was driving the car home..it shut off and the security/theft indicator and the CEL both came on..car started up again..just wondering what u guys think..appreciate it

My stereo in the sunfire came from an 01 Grand Am .I had to take it back to dealer to have it re programmed. Some guys will say push these numbers and those numbers and get the code then call this number ,however `the 01`s and newer need a dealer. While your there get it scanned for codes for the other problem ,or take it to Auto zone for the free scan. If you want to try the push button thing check Silverado Forum at top there is a post about unlocking radio. Also he can check for bad connections at battery ,frame ,firewall etc
