Steel Braided Hoses
I was looking to add a little bit of flash under the hood and trying to find some braided hoses for a decent price for a 2000 GT. Anyone know where to find some, or should I just get a sleeving kit and do it myself?

Re: Steel Braided Hoses
I just make my own hoses. Its not cheap but custom work never is. I doubt you will find a "braided hose kit" for your specific car. You will need to decide what hoses you want to be braided stainless and then start replacing them from there. But, your factory rubber hoses connect to hose barb fittings. The braided stainless hose uses hose ends that thread to other (bulkhead) fittings.

Re: Steel Braided Hoses
Here are a couple pics to show you what my hoses look like. I am adding a -16AN stainless braided upper radiator hose to the car as well.

Re: Steel Braided Hoses
Its not cheap lol. Just go to www.summitracing.com and do some price checking. It would be alot of work to replace stock hoses with stainless braided hose. You would have to figure out a way to replace the stock hose barb fittings with threaded fittings for whatever size hose you decide to use. Each hose size takes the same size fittings and different size fitting have different size hoses. What hoses do you want to replace?

Re: Steel Braided Hoses
Those are just covers/sleeves that slide over hoses you already have.

Re: Steel Braided Hoses
For now I just kinda wanna do the radiator hoses to see how it looks before I spend the money to do the rest of them.

Re: Steel Braided Hoses
To replace the radiator hoses with stainless braided hose you are going to spend some cash. Thats the most expensive hose on my car, because its the largest. You will have to replace your thermostat housing with one that has a -16AN end instead of the hose barb end. The t-stat housing I have was over $100. Then you will have to buy a length of -16AN hose, as well as two -16AN hose ends (around $40 each). Thats just for the upper hose. For the lower hose you will want to use -20AN if you can, but -16AN will work. Then you will have to buy a waterpump with a threaded/flared end another section of hose, and 2 more hose ends.
The cheaper option is to buy those "sleeves" that just slide over your existing hoses.

Re: Steel Braided Hoses
Speaking of clean engine bays has anyone tried the new Black Magic engine bay cleaner? I love all of their other products and was just wondering if anyone had any experience with it and how well it works.
