SRT-4 is faster stock, but Xero's grand am is faster than an SRT-4, and without boost. Whatever you want to do. You can get a grand am into the 12's with ridiculous amounts of money and time, or you can probably break 11's with an SRT-4. Just think about what your GOAL is with a car. Do you want to just have casual fun, or go all-out racing? If you plan to just go for all-out racing, a grand am probably isn't your car. If you want the ultimate sleeper, hellz yeah grand am roxxors

its still a turbo neon but srt-4 might be better if 'faster' is what you want as your goal car like vipey said... there isnt much you'd have to change on the srt-4 to make it go faster... bigger turbo, change up the ecu, intake, exhaust w/e works... 4cylc are better to build upon mainly due to price on parts... and I should know grand am performance parts dont come easy lol

I might be looking into owning a 2nd car, a awd talon tsi w/ a 23psi turbo and water/meth kit and all sorts of goodies.... old but it'd be a fun project car, the GA is still just my quick daily driver

yea, what im saying is... with the srt-4 you have a good platform to build upon in the future

5g's on a GA wont do much lol, you can sell the GA, buy the srt-4 and have money left over for small upgrades on the srt-4...

talons are way the hell faster than SRT-4's with 23 psi You can run 1g dsm's with 2g pistons up to 28 psi before they explode. Image how fast that would be and AWD!!!

you are talking about a 10 second GA for sure.
1lb of boost = aprox 10HP

ANd I doubt if you'll have any money left over when you buy the srt-4

In the last year I have replaced 3 engines in SRT-4s due to overheating/spun bearings and massive internal damages. Cost $3-5k for repairs

I havent replaced any GM engines in the last 2 years.
Not due to damage anyways.

I wouldn't reccomend a SRT4. I've heard a lot of people having more problems with them then it's worth. Plus i saw on the net that on the SRT4, that the engine bearings can't put up with the intense pressure from the boost and tend to end up breaking and spinning at low miles... therefore. NEW engine needed! SO therefore I wouldn't recommend it! What's the rush for a new car anyways? you have an 05 G/A... if you are looking for fast and the furious, stay away from the import scene, it's more trouble then it's worth!

with forged parts I dont know anyone who has pushed that envelope
