stalling at 1/4 temp, 2000 gl

hello
i am back, i took the car to the dealer, they wanted 1200.00
to replace crank sensor, intake manifold gasked and clean something
induction????..
so i took it to a local repair shop, he replaced the crank sensor
and he said he was not sure why you need the intake gasket unless
it was leaking antizee or something,,he did not know what the inductions..
stuff was either.
any way it work for a couple of days but now it stalls when the temp
reaches about a 1/4.

Re: 1/4 temp stall, 2000 intrique 3.5

usually you get a 500-700 rpm blip down with a bad CKP sensor at 1/4 temp. After that the car drives fine. If you drive your car in second (right around the 1/4 temp mark) and keep the revs up you will get past the stall situation =need about 2000 rpm.

1200rpm-600rpm blip (loss of rpm) = engine stops due to being below stall speed.

There is no Service Engine Soon (SES) or Service Vehicle Soon (SVS) light coming on? =OBD2 codes. When you get the rpm blip the SES light should come on (may also go off).

Re: 1/4 temp stall, 2000 intrique 3.5

do you get SES or SVS lights popping up. =If you do you should have OBD2 error codes stored. =You can read these OBD2 codes and figure out what is wrong.

Car dieing:
My Sister's 2000 Saturn L200 usta do that -for her it was a camshaft position sensor. Usually a bad camshaft position sensor causes a delayed (hesitating) start in the Intrigue. =You need to crank it over a few seconds to almost 3-5 seconds for it to start.

Re: 1/4 temp stall, 2000 intrique 3.5

junkintrique,

The two threads (stalling at 1/4 temp, 2000 gl and 1/4 temp stall, 2000 intrique 3.5) you had on this issue have been merged together. Please do not run multiple threads/posts on the same issue and title. All it does is cause confusion and possibly redundant answers.

Also, your choice of member name when you signed up on AF was not a good choice. I realize you may be frustrated with the problems you are having but some Olds Intrigue owners may find it offensive.
