2000 jimmy replaced ignition switch

Hello,

I have just had my ignition switch replaced because the key would not turn. Now that it is replaced, there is absolutely no power. Key will turn, but nothing else works.

any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2000 jimmy replaced ignition switch

First check battery and cables and fuses.
Good 12-13 volts there and good ground.
Got horn or headlights or heater blower?
Have you got good voltage to ign switch and then good power out.
Did a repair shop replace it?
Did it ever start or run after switch replace?

See if the security light stays on after turn to run position - if so passlock activated. If it goes off then thats not it. Switch has a hall effects sensor on it that must work.
