89 caprice

I'm looking at this 89 caprice. Has clean title new paint job says its runs really good and all that etc, etc.

car has only two problems according to the owner.

Needs a exaust pipe...now can there be any problems with that?...may not past smogg?

and Back brakes needs to be replace or adjusted.

He only wants $1000 for it, I thought I would jump on it for that price.

Also it has manual locks and windows, I searched the forum already and no one answered the question, but would it be possible to go the junk yard and get some parts from another caprice that had power everything and put it into this car?

Thanks for any Help.

Re: 89 caprice

1. Replace the exhaust system. No problem.
2. The rear brakes are self-adjusting, so you probably need to repair them. Again, no problem, fixed for less than a Benjamin.
3. It CAN be done, but you will be in over your head for the amount of work. Not so much for the door locks as for the regulators + all the necessary wiring.
