Roof Rack on 5 door Megane

Hi,

I have been trying to fit my new roof rack to my megane 5 door (2003), it is an Atera Signo roof rack.

I opened the flaps on the roof, tried to remove the plastic lugs in the locating bolts on the roof but the heads came off - so I carefully drilled out the lugs.

When I go to screw in the locating screws for the rack, all bar one of the bolts are very tight and I don;t want to force the screws in too hard for fear they won;t ever come out again or that the heads of the screws become too damaged to get them out again.

Are these just very tight as this is their first use, if so what can I use to help get the screws in ? Or could there be another explenation ?

Thanks

Re: Roof Rack on 5 door Megane

Update.

I got the screws in the fixpoints, took a good bit of cleaning out the fix points properly with a light oil and then greasing each fixpoint and slowly and carefully screwing in the bolts.

Just thoughts I'd pop an update on here for anyone else with a similar problem.
