shifter broke

Hello I have a 2003 grand am automatic. The shift knob broke on me it was just the plastic part..I was wondering if someone knows if just that can be replaced or if I have to replace the whole linkage?

Re: shifter broke

IF you find one in a salvage yard the handle, top part, comes off by removing the clip ring in the front side of the handle.

I see no need to replace the entire shifter

btw no need to post multiple posts on the same topic.
I am speaking about your threads in the Silverado & Sierra forums, "truck will start then stall ".
