Question CD Player has no shock Buffer

I purchased a 2000 740i a few months ago which is in near perfect condition with 115K.

However, I do have one complaint. The 6CD player in the trunk appears to have no shock buffer. Every bump in the road, little more that a mere expansion joint, causes the player to skip. I know buffers have been incorporated in mobile players for at LEAST 10 years, so is mine simply not working or did BMW simply have too much confidence in the car's ride?

Re: CD Player has no shock Buffer

As much as BMW knew they made the best suspension the world has ever seen, they still incorporated anti-skip buffering into their sound systems (which were not built by BMW) because no matter how well you design your suspension, you will always have slight vibrations that will cause CD skipping...so, I guess you're next question is, how do if fix the skipping, I suppose?

Re: CD Player has no shock Buffer

Yea, I guess I need to take it out and do some investigative work. Other than skipping at every bump, the player works great. If nothing else, I may see if I can mount it with some rubber off-sets to reduce the problem a little.
