Is this transmission repairable

Is this transmission repairable I got the truck for free it is a 93 ranger xlt 4x4. The servo broke through the side and it looks like someone tried to hack it together with JB weld.I will replace the whole tranny if I have to but if there is a fix by not taking it out that would be great.

Re: Is this transmission repairable

I recently rebuilt a servo (different tranny tho) that looked very similar to this one.

When the repair was attempted on your tranny... a good bit of damage was done ... not only to the tranny cover, but the servo assembly itself. There's a threaded hole near the servo that can be used (as a pivot point ... just insert a bolt, with large washer ... and use a combo wrench as tool) to push against the servo while the servo-retainer-circlip is removed.

I would be very concerned about the overall condition of the tranny ... I would advise a complete overhaul or a swapout.
