Dang, this server is really getting on my nerves...but I wonder why I keep coming back, lol...Anyway, this is what my thread is about...again...

I just bought a jdm cluster on ebay and it says "need 90-91 mounting bracket to fit in an 88 civic", along with professional wiring. Does that include replacing the entire cluster cover? I tried to fit it this afternoon and its not plug and play...Good thing I have an electronic VSS laying around (if I find it), its suppose to work with that type only...Anyone done this before on a 88 civic hatch?:flash:

im almost positive you need the 90-91 hood. You should go down to the pick-n-pull in Hayward or one of the junkyards, E&J's is right down the street from the pick n pull. you should be able to find one there and a mounting bracket too.

Yeah - the hood shape changed between the two.

This is the style cover you need:

Just came from Atlanta wrecking yard in Hayward and picked me up a cluster hood and mounting brackets...is it the same for an automatic hood? I havent tried to fit em yet but thats the only one they have there and I bought it. I'll get the VSS tomorrow afterwork and maybe start on the wiring on Sunday. I may do it Friday night in time for this Saturdays meet in Fremont...what do you think?:flash:
