oil leak

Hello
I have a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus LXI 6cyl that has a oil leak!
as best that I can, I traced it to the back of the cover thats on the left cam(cam that is close to the fire wall).had to stop for the day so I didn't get to take the cover off yet!
My question is does anyone know if there is some type of gasket or seal in or around the cam? If so what is it and has anyone changed it? How did you get the plastic cover in front of the cam off? A bracket seems to be in the way!
Any and all help would be welcomed!!

Thank you all in advance!

Re: oil leak

Best thing to do is get a repair manual from local parts store .

Re: oil leak

I have been working on this oil leak and the only place that there could be a leak is out of the camshaft seal thats on the head of the engine where the shaft comes out and the cam sprocket is on.

Does anyone know about this seal? is it simple to change out?

Any and all help appreciated !!!!

Re: oil leak

Get a Hayes repair manual it will tell you how to re place the seal if that is the problem be warned , you will have to disassemble most of the front of motor and need some specific tools.
