ls-vtec purchase possibility

Hey guys- a 96 Integra ls has become available to me, and I'm really interested in it. I called about it, and the owner told me it has an ls-vtec engine in it. he also told me it was rebuilt about 8k miles ago. are there any concerns I should have with this engine, or questions I should ask about it and/or the rebuild? he's only asking blue book for it, and its a really sharp looking car. any advice you could give me about asking about the engine would be great. Thanks in advance!

Re: ls-vtec purchase possibility

Compression/leak down test the motor to see if it is healthy or not. Also check the oil make sure there isnt any coolant or metal shavings. Pull the valve cover check for cleanliness... it should be pretty damn clean if it only has 8k miles on it.
