Coil spring recall

Hey guys and gals. If you have a 01 Taurus make sure to check if it falls under the recall for breaking coil springs. I just had my coil spring break while the car was sitting in my garage. It imobilized the front wheel. Needless to say by the time I was able to find a towing company that could pull the car out and get it to the dealer to fix I was out some money. I remember when Ford used to send out recall notices. I guess they don't do that anymore. The big wigs figured the less the people know the more money they could save fixing their quality problems. In all my years of driving I've never had or even knew anyone who had a coil spring break. This is a first. Good ol Ford. Quality is job 1. Yeah right.

Re: Coil spring recall

Well the recall they just install spring shields. But, they springs don't break just to break, they break because they get rusty up here in the rust belt.
