95 Cavalier, 2.2L Intermittent Starting Issues

Car will start most days but every month or so it won't start on some mornings. It's always in the morning.. normally on a Saturday which is a good thing.

I have replaced fuel filter, plugs and plug wires.

When it doesn't start it'll act like it's about to turn over, sputter for a second or two and then it'll quit altogether.

When it does start, which is about 90 out of 100 starts, it runs great w/o any hesitation or lack of power.

Keep in mind this situation only happens about once a month for the last five or six months.

Re: 95 Cavalier, 2.2L Intermittent Starting Issues

Are you saying, when the problem occurs, the vehicle cranks good but won't start? If so, when the problem occurs, do the basic tests. Have somebody crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. If you have plenty of spark, check fuel pressure. Are there any trouble-codes?

Intermittent problems are a pain, you have to do the testing when the problem occurs. Maybe you will get lucky and a code has set, that might point you in the right direction.

Hey everyone /thing deserves a Saturday off once in awhile......LOL. Take it to Autozone and have it scanned for any codes before putting more parts into it .
