How To: Install B&M Shift Plus on 2.4L LD9 Z24
I know there's already info on how to do this but I figured I'd start a new How to in a cleaner thread.
Alright, this is a general How To on installing the Shift plus. *Note: This mod only works on 4speed (PRND321) electronic automatic transmissions. Let's start out with the materials you should receive in the package... Shift plus controller unit Velcro square 2 scotchloc connectors (4 pieces) Zip ties ![]() Quick run through if you've never used these scotchloc connectors, here are close ups so you can see how they work... ![]() ![]() ![]() Now let's say the zip tie is the wire you are splicing into, and you can also see the RED wire coming from the shift plus going into the connector, this is how it all comes together... ![]() First thing's first, find a place to mount the Shift Plus unit inside your cav. I used the velcro and applied it under the steering column. Just make sure you run the wire where it's circled in the pic so they're not hanging down near your feet or something... ![]() Next you have to run the Shift Plus wire through the firewall, shown here... ![]() ![]() Okay, understand so far? Now here is where the wires you will be splicing into are located on the 2.4L motor... ![]() Now you will be splicing the RED wire from the Shift Plus unit into the Red wire w/Black stripe and the BLACK wire from the Shift Plus into the Light blue w/ White stripe. ![]() Here's a close up of mine, it's probly not the cleanest way of doing it but it worked for me. You shouldn't have to precut the wires on the motor, the splicing connectors should tap right in once they are closed. Of course when you are done, use the zip ties and clean up any loose wires either in the engine bay or under the dash and be sure to use electrical tape and wrap the splicing connectors to avoid corrosion as much as possible... ![]() Now get out there and give it a test run

Re: How To: Install B&M Shift Plus on 2.4L LD9 Z24
one question, the red and black wire shown in the picture you spliced.....thats the wrong one isnt it? Mine is splied to the one right under the light blue one shown in your picture, and the shiftplus works for me, unless its wrong and how its working isnt how it should be? Let me know just in case mine is wired wrong!

Re: How To: Install B&M Shift Plus on 2.4L LD9 Z24
do u lance, or u yhandor, get the check engine light on in your cars when the shiftplus is in use? or any lights at all?
btw...good write up lance! EDIT: i got this off the org site... "the wires u are connecting is the black wire to the light blue with white stripe, now the other red wire you want to install to is the red wire with black stripe this wire is directly underneath the light blue one, not the one to the right of it"

Re: How To: Install B&M Shift Plus on 2.4L LD9 Z24
Dont use those shitty wire taps, everyone ive talked to over at jbody.org has had nothing but trouble with them, they dont make a good connection and can cause the unit to work intermittanly.
I suggest you solder all your connections. And that red wire is the wrong one.. its the red one under the light blue one like everyone else said. |

Mine works completly fine so far
![]() My check engine light has already been on so Idk if the Shift plus is setting it off yet but I do know the ETS OFF light comes on when I'm in stage2. You shouldn't leave it on stg1 or 2 tho so it really doesn't matter since you should only have the unit engaged for a limited amount of time.
