How do you guys like your ZCs?

I was thinking about doing a B18A but after looking over all the axels, and mounts, and all that the price you pay for the increase in performance over a ZC isn't worth it. I could Turbo the ZC and be pretty much the same as a Turbo B18A, or at least good enough for an old Hatchback.

So how do you guys with ZCs like them? Anyone have a Turbo one?

I like mine...has lots of bottom end and the top aint so bad...got a turbo kit sitting in my garage...but some of it needs reconditioning, and i'm such a slack ass about getting it fitted, but once it is i'll be able to report back.

Jackson Racing makes a d-series supercharger, but I've heard alot of bad things about them (mainly that they almost always break in a short ammount of time).

I like looking at my ZC.......which is still sitting in my wrecked JDM CRX Si

I can't get hold of the guy who said he wants it, so looks like I'll be holding onto it for a little while longer.
If he doesn't want it I could always swap it into my civic, but I like my D15B too much

hmmm decisions, decisions

Like your D15B too much? And what kind of D15 is this that someone would take it over a ZC?

Maybe a Mini-Me D15?

Its just a stock D15B. no mods at all. It likes reving happily to 7200rpm and beyond which I think is good considering the car is 13 years old

But if my mate doesn't want the ZC I might swap it in, just for fun.

Isn't there a noticeable power difference between the D15 and the ZC?
Are you using the D15B transmission?

Yeah my D15B rates at about 92hp and a ZC is about 130hp, which is a big difference.

But if i wanted horsepower i would go and buy an EF9 SiR Civic w/ B16A which rates at about 150-160hp

And yes i'm using a D15B transmission. Like I said, its all stock.

I have to say that I enjoy driving my ZC powered DX. however, for the money it has cost me, the problems that I had with the first one that went bad after only about 3.5 months, the electronics woes of adding mpfi, the incessant switching out of tps's, and the headache of trying to make the stupid thing run right, besides the fact that the d15 tranny kinda sucks, I wish I'd have stepped up and bitten off a B16a1 and gotten a Y1 tranny. I can't imagine it being any more difficult or costly than the stupid mess I'm into now. Just ask KBslacker about the fun we've had w/my zc's!! I think he said something like

I would have to say that I like my ZC. I have beaten plenty of B16s with it. yes Jackson racing makes a supercharger specifically for the ZC but its expensive. Turbos have to be custom fabricated with the I/C piping and such. If youre getting a ZC make sure its compression tested and shit like that. I wouldnt put a ZC in an SI though. Too heavy of a car. I have mine in a STD so its much lighter. I also have the ZC trans. Next swap for me will be B18C5 or B18 w/ boost.
