plans.

ok well im putting this in off topic because so many people hate the "ooo im gonna do this and that" threads.

now that thats out of the way,

a n/a 240sx is on the way from me.
goals include daily driven pump gas 275whp.
2400lb curb weight.
12.9 in the 1320.
its gonna be set up completely adjustable, but mainly for road racing with the ocassional drift excursion.

im doing this as an object lesson that defying conventional wisdom just takes a little determination and skill.
this car may be done next year, it may be done in 5 years. but its coming.

Re: plans.

ITBs are a must, but im leaning toward an SR20DE right now, because of lighter weight for handling. no expense is going to be spared as far as light weight is concerned.

Re: plans.

2400 lbs is quite an achievment. LOTS of stuff to remove.

Re: plans.

275whp sounds hard out of a n/a SR. Why not build a high comp KA?

Re: plans.

im thinking of trying this without the VE head though. some high lift cams and a ton of headwork should get me up there. i dont really want to deal with adapting the vtc to an old ass car, plus i want a high port head.

extrude hone + 5 angle valve job + oversized valves + reshaped combustion chamber + 9000 redline should get me the power i want out of the head. that plus 11.5:1 comp or even 12:1 possibly, with a secondary fuel rail misting into the throttle bodies, light wheels, CF driveshaft, light tires, light brakes, light flywheel, light clutch, knife edged crank, high flow oil pump, oil cooler(external of course), and start replacing steel things with aluminum things.
