Water on Driver's Side Floorboard
I just purchased a used 2000 Intrigue (good shape, 115,000 miles and paid $3800) and once I got it home I found the carpet on the driver's side floorboard wet. I pulled the carpet back and the spongy undercoat was soaked. There was a drain plug on the floorboard also. Two questions: Where would the water be coming from and secondly, what's with the drain plugs (which allowed me to get the water out after squeezing).

your blower fan vent tube is clogged =clean out the vent tube. The plug in the floor is exactly what you are using it for =to get water out of the car. First time I heard the Intrigue has these though. |

Re: Water on Driver's Side Floorboard
I did a search prior to posting and since this is on the driver's side I didn't think it owuld be the same fix.

Had the same problem, but on the passenger side. Water was getting in through the heater blower air intake. There's a thoroughly flakey setup to keep rainwater out of the intake, but many Intrigue owners have found out that it doesn't work. I had to make a sheet metal hood for the intake to finally stop the leak. If you can't find the intake (it's under the hood, under the plastic panel at the bottom of the windshield and around the wiper arms on the passenger side) look in your manual to see where your cabin air filter is. The filter sits on top of the air intake. The water's probably getting in there and traveling to the driver's side through a duct and vent. I don't know what the thinking was with those drain plugs. |

Re: Water on Driver's Side Floorboard
I dont think any metal fab is necessary to stop the leak if thats where its coming from, if the seal that runs underneath the windshield is installed properly, it wont leak, mine came loose once and leaked, but on my passenger side. A little superglue later, it still holds to this day.

Re: Water on Driver's Side Floorboard
use some clear silicone to seal that. -cheaper and works better. (messy-hard to get off though)
