Re: 95 Aurora Trany acting really wierd or is it the ECM?
Hello, I just recently bought a 95 Aurora, it was involved in a front end deer collision, the damage was NOT major at all, it still needs a new hood, but that is only part of the problem. It will shift so hard when shifting into reverse, and bangs into drive as well. I drove the car from Florida back to Ohio with no problems on the highway(but still banging into reverse and drive when i stopped for gas and food). I do not know what to do. If i let the car sit overnight, in the morning it will drive like a champ for about 5 minutes, then it will hesitate(like it has a bad fuel filter or something), then it will stick into 2nd gear and not do anything else. I dont know about you, but hearing the roaring engine and still going 55 mph is not the kind of car i want. I need serious help here, i do not have the money to purchase a new transmission or the time. I am a college student, and in need of some help and guidance in this area. Please help me. You can email me at [email protected], or [email protected]. Also, the starter, plugs wires, and ECM WERE RECENTLY REPLACED. PLEASE HELP ME with this issue!! THANKS!! Adam THIS CAR is STUCK in 2nd GEAR, neutral and reverse and park all work, but it is STUCK in 2nd gear. PLEASE HELP ME!!

Re: 95 Aurora Trany acting really wierd or is it the ECM?
Wow, I thought I was reading my own post on this forum a couple of years ago. I too hit a deer and the car just fell apart mechanically. Same kind of problems. I don't know how much you paid for your car but, I would suggest looking at the other posts regarding your problem and other problems that this POS has. The deer just made them appear a little earlier. You can try to replace the ECM with another used one. It is easy to do and relatively inexpensive. Hopefully that will fix your problem. It didn't with mine. You might be prompted to do what I did when I really looked into the problems this car manefests regularly. Sell the car cheap, chalk it up to a learning experience and go on. If you don't, you may find that your wallet seldom sees the inside of your pocket. Good luck.

Re: 95 Aurora Trany acting really wierd or is it the ECM?
Check your connections on the tranny .....then the next thing is check the two shift solenoids in the valve body....the last thing is to check the Torque converter sensor...follow this link for more info.....http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/khalid...E+Doc.&.view=l

OK gentlemen Aurora goes into the shop in 1 hour to diagnose the codes fromthe SES light. Cant wait to see what they come up with now.
We will see what happens, but im pretty sure it's gonna be the ecm. I will do what khalid asked, and have them check everything while im in there. thanks to ALL of you for your experience and hardships in trying to find out whats wrong with these pieces. ~~Adam~~

ok well after dishing out some $$ they told me i had some RAM and CAM codes in there (which they deleted), and the car shifted so smooth for a few times, than back to BANG! well, its been a few days, and ive unplugged the battery, i drove it today. and to my surprise, its not shifting hard at all, but it STICKS in 2ND gear after 5 Minutes! i cant go anywhere going 45@4k rpm. thats nuts! So im still lost. I just got done ripping the replaced ecm out of the dash, the serial number is 16197429 one. So im still lost on what to do. i have noticed though that if it sticks in 2nd while going somewhere, if i stop the car, shut if off, then turn it back on, it will go back to normal driving, but i do not know how long this lasts, since i do not drive to any locations more than 12 minutes. so im still stuck on what to do. my tranny is a 3.48 ratio, and the dealership told me to find computers 16180517 or 88961146, then bring it in to have it programmed at the dealership (1 hour $70 work). so i dont know what to do now. please help again. anything would be good lol. thanks to all of you for your help! opcorn:

Re: 95 Aurora Tranny acting really wierd or is it the ECM?
2nd gear is awfully like notorious pcs filter between shift solenoids...
also on 95 you cant flash pcm. you have to use eeprom which came with your car. also first off i'd be looking into lower valve body and check sol's and FILTER ! getting delco solenoid kit WITH BRACKET and installing it asap.... EDIT: it'll be quite amusing, if from deer impact pcs filter in lower valve body just stuck out about 1mm out of body. it is in line of impact lenghtwise =)) you know, w/o deer it happened to me - same limp mode symthoms, only 1st and 2nd. dont drive car like this. check lower valve body. turned out it was that tiny filter sticking out about 1-2mm EDIT2: dealership is obviously haven't got a clue about auroras and trying to rape you... RAM and CAM codes - we laughed and laughed and laughed... |

Re: 95 Aurora Tranny acting really wierd or is it the ECM?
read up... it's a solenoid/filter problem most likely. repair kit from delco is 50$. writeup on doing the job is on ACNA site.
banging would indicate pressure regulation problem (PCS solenoid) but looks like your PCM adapted the pressure now, and only cant perform shifts.... edit: really dude, you had to read codes long ago...it's not too late for it ! if im right it'll be 'Solenoid A problem','Solenoid B' problem and 'Shift solenoid malfunction'.... |

Re: 95 Aurora Tranny acting really wierd or is it the ECM?
first off, it's most likely not doable by you.... it involves dropping the tranny pan with draining fluid, carefully taking out the valve body, disassembling valve body, replacting sol's + filter + putting on the bracket which is inside the delco kit (it is to prevent this from happening again).
here's writeup: http://aurorah.proboards47.com/index...ead=1139486581 note that you also need new filter kit (2 filters), and about 8.5 quarts of tranny fluid (dexron III). |

Re: 95 Aurora Tranny acting really wierd or is it the ECM?
well just got mine back:
cleaned and tightened pc solenoid terminals at pcm. fuction tests check ok. possible connection problem or internal pcm interminttent failure...$53.00 the thing that gets me is they replaced the PCM 2 months ago...i am guessing they forgot to tighten it down..... |
