Fan trouble ??? pls.

The fan on my civic only works in the 3 and 4 switch positions, in the 1 and 2 positions, the fan doesn't come on. What should I look for? I'm going to look at it this weekend, any helps/tips is greatly appreciated.

Did the intermediate wipers come stock on your DX? Mine only has off, low and high, and intermittant would be really nice to have.

Had the same problem with my old CRX... the intermediate wipers wouldn't work.
My mechanic of the time replaced the handle with a new one and everything worked fine.

I would assume you're having the same kinda problems with the fan switch...

Yeah my blower doesn't really come on in 1st. However I think its just very low, and 234 are all pretty much the same.

Has anyone installed intermittant wipers on their car? If it's not too difficult I would like to do it. If it's a pain in the ass I'll just keep flicking them on and off like I do now.

We are talking about the heater blower I assume. If you only have 3 and 4 then there is a real good chance the resistor unit has died. I happen to have the same problem and it is NOT the switch unit that usually goes. I do have a complete blower assembly out of a 90 CRX available (drop me an e-mail if interested). You may find that you can also get a used unit from a salvage yard and they can test it before you buy. Or go to a Honda dealer and try to order the parts.

I have a feeling that the resistor pack for swtiches 1 and 2 have failed. I've just heard of same problems from other cars, and that was the culprit. I'll find out on the weekend and post the results. I just hope I don't end up tearing the dash apart. Wish me luck.
