Smile 1977 camaro

Hi im just new to this forum.

It is possible i will come into possession of a 77 camaro soon, and having very little knowledge about american cars i have a few questions!!

1. the car is not running, for what reason i dont know.... if its the worst case scenario, what kind of engine cant be fitted instead. It currently has the basic straight 6. Can it only be engines from that car that will fit, or can another smallblock engine fit?

2. How much time/work is it to fit a new engine? I would not even ATTEMPT it myself!!

3. Are these engines expensive??

thankyou!! and hello!

Re: 1977 camaro

You could fit pretty much any sbc or bbc in a second gen, with a few mods of course. You never know how long a swap will take, especially if you've never done it before and you also have to account for problems that may arise...building your own motor is definitely cheaper and more fun.

I don't know anything about the questions you asked but, out of curiosity. I noticed you are in the UK. How does a guy from across the pond come into getting a American muscle car?

Very easily. American G.I.'s have been taking cars to Europe for decades and leaving them there when they PCS back to the states.
