Cool '95 Max warm start up miss?

My '95 Max runs fine when started cold, but if shut down when warm and left to cool for an hour, it runs rough when restarted until it is fully warm again. It's like I have a temperature sensor failure. The wierd thing is that it pulls the knock sensor code, 3 long blinks and 4 short. I didn't think would cause such symptoms. Any thoughts?

Probably a bad engine coolant temperature sensor.

Yes..but..., why wasn't a code displayed for that? And how can I verify if it's the coolant temp. sensor?

Maybe the light went out, I'd say have the shop look at it. Nothing is ever 100%.

ECU is a lottery machine throwin factory generated codes planned to locate 'pre-designed' problems in new machines... They may also be smtimes right, and its higly probable KS is dead after 12 yrs.

Your startin issue can be 'anything' (but KS), my guess is cracked vacuum tubing leak, oxidized connector(s), see page 10&14. The temp sensor resistance, which isnt this issue, can be checked with dmm, check page9, clic link below.
