Hey guys, well specifically Silicon212, a while back you helped me figure out all the specifications about the rear end in my Caprice. If you're willing to give it out, I was wondering where I could access the references you used to run the code so I could too have it as a reference. If possible it'd be nice to print something off so when I'm wandering through a junkyard I can have the reference right there with me. Thanks in advance!!

Re: Rear end reference.
This has a ton of information, most of which I could definately use (just got done bookmarking it) But I don't see the codes that can be found on the axel tube. Am I not looking hard enough?

Re: Rear end reference.
Yeah, I remember that web page back from this thread. But when looking for my code i ran into the problem of not finding any info on it via the Nova page. Then you came up with a bunch of specs from a number of "pages" that corresponded perfectly with my car.
P.S. I just realized that nobody answered the question from that thread as to whether my rear differential was a 26 or 28 spline.

Re: Rear end reference.
7.5" = 26 spline. 8.5" = 28 spline up through 1988, 30 spline thereafter.
As for the other 'pages', I just did a google on the codes.

Re: Rear end reference.
Ah Google... I guess yah can't fail with that. I was confused with the splines because in terms of aftermarket posi units the 7.5 was available in 26 and 28 splines, so I wasn't sure what my car came with... But you answered that for me. Thanks so much!!!
