2000 acord v6 missfire code

Hey all, hope someone can relieve a lil pressure here.

2000 Honda Accord v-6:

Missfire 2-6 cyl. and multi. Done all the reg fix, well not me I am the 3rd on this car. Injectors, coils done, as the egr mode.. Does anyone know if #1 cyl fires off of the crank or the cam? This piece of junk is kinda upsetting me a little and any help would be appciated.
I have above average on mechanical and electronic controls as well.
Thanx in advance, Tim

Forgot to mention, with clean scan, at idle missfire 4 and 5 cyl with multi only occurs, only when driven will the rest show up.

If all the obvious stuff has been eliminated then it's time to
take it to the dealer and have diagnostics run.
Sounds now like that would have been cheaper at first.

Yea, well I refuse to just replace parts just because, I will if it checks bad. Unfortunatly I don't have a lot of faith in dealerships.

Thank you for your input.

I understand your "faith" in dealerships, but they usually are "better"
when it comes to diagnostics, they also have all the service bulletines
and recalls for "your" car.
My Honda dealership here in town has impressed me,
and I'm hard to please.
Out of all the dealerships I've dealt with over the past
30 years, Honda has been the best by far.

This car was at the dealership.

Just to clear things up a bit I am a tech, been doing it for around 25 year. This is not a common problem and I havn't met a certified dealership type that made my world spin.
I am glad that your dealer has treated you well And I don't doubt that there are many that will stand by your side.
I was hoping maybe some chance that there was another soul with an answer.

Re: 2000 acord v6 missfire code

Well obviously you're well qualified so I'll skip all
the usual stuff that normally would get checked.
Have you considered the computer? I know it's rare but
you have something that is far from normal.
As a last resort you might consider swapping with a used one.
Otherwise I'd bet you have an electrical problem, and that can be
next to impossible to trace sometimes, even a bad connection at
the computer. Or wire in the harness.
I'm guessing here because I know you've checked everything else.
I know it's frustrating, I had a Nissan at two different dealerships
that could not get fixed. They swapped everything and still not fixed.
They didn't charge me but finally gave it back, still not fixed.
Good luck

Where is this car come from?
What is the history?
How many miles?
Are you a fleet tech?

Check the air filter and underhood to see if you have any wetness or water spots. Sounds to me someone has put water or other substance in the fuel tank other than gasoline.

Sorry for not getting back,

The problem was tight valves.

I was pulling my hair out, couldn't believe but now it looks so obvious. It acted just like the 20 and 22re motors of Toyota when they had tight valves which was quite often! I had checked with AITN and nothing. Funny I was just kicking back having a beer when it hit me

Re: 2000 acord v6 missfire code

What a trip, this car came back this week because she ran over a spare tire on the freeway, about 2500 in damages. So funny and no CELrunaround
