Re: 94 eclipse ground wires

shouldn't it attach to the original location on the firewall? or are you talking about something else?

Re: 94 eclipse ground wires

Are you just using after-market ground wire kit? If so, you just connect the wires to a couple different locations around the engine bay. Basically, stay away from any positive (+) connections. Mine are as follows:

(-) Battery -> Firewall
(-) Battery -> Head -> Block
(-) Battery -> Intake Manifold (throttle adjustment plate to be exact) -> Firewall
(-) Battery -> Transmission
(-) Battery -> Alternator

That is the correct order and placement. The only adjustment I made with the stock wires was cut the wire from the (-) battery to the firewall, and took off the stock wire from the intake manifold to the firewall and replaced both.

Re: 94 eclipse ground wires

Why do you need to install aftermarket ground wires? Unless you're running an extremely large system, the stock ones should be fine.

The stock ones are fine. After-market are supposed to help with brightening up the lights and help get the power to where it's supposed to go. I don't know about all of that, but it sure doesn't hurt to have them. (unless you wire it up to some positive wire, lets say, oh i dont know... the fuse box )

Re: 94 eclipse ground wires

I know the stockers are fine, that's why I brought it up. I just don't want him ot get the notion that if he upgrades to aftermarket ground wires that he's gonna have an extra 20hp, because that's not going to happen.

Re: 94 eclipse ground wires

That's exactly the reason why I suggested against it, now you have a load of problems. You'll have to trace back and make sure everything is connected properly and the connections are tight.

Re: 94 eclipse ground wires

Ahh nOObs. Take them all off. Then do one by one. Put it on. Check for lights and all. If fine, then go next. Always test to make sure its a negaive connection for connecting. That means pretty much anything, chasis, motor, whatever. Anything with a wire coming from someplace else, check it first. If you did the above directions, it would work fine.

Re: 94 eclipse ground wires

You dont need no fuckin ground wires. Ground wires are for chicks and people with small weeners.

Yeah, just take them all off and do like Dave said.

So what are you saying? I have them. I don't qualify as neither of those.
