tranney slip

tranney slips
its crazy, but if im at a stop light, it catches if i rev it up to like 4,000rpm. i put osme seafoam in it a dn tranney fluid, it seemed to help.
btw its not my car, a friend said hed give me 200$ if i could get it working. now i can drive it but it still slips a little
would a filter change help?
it hard as hell to read the dip stick on the tranney so im not comepletely sure how much fluid is in it, but ive put abour 3 qts. in it.
