please help is a ranger right for me?

I am in the market for a small truck and I would like your input on if a ranger is right for me. I am looking for something used probibly mid 90s that can tow a small boat and is good on gas. I would say max weight of boat trailor and gear is less then 2500 lbs. I would like a vehical to tow it at reasonably high speeds 65-70 on freeway and has normally decent gas milage for regular driving also. is a 3.0l ranger right for me?

Re: please help is a ranger right for me?

then you want to get a 3.0 or a 4.0 ranger with a automatic transmission. because on the boat ramps i have heard stories where ranger owners have had to replace the clutch after 300miles

but you need to be picky because the auto transmissions if they havent been maintained properly dont live long also. and you may want to beef up the tranny cooling on it.
