92 Eagle Summit wheel wobble videos [YouTube]

92 eagle summit hatch 1.5

OK, so you can see the wobble now with the wheels up, looks like a bad CV in my opinion, looks like a new axel assembly could help out

Video with wheel on

Wobble with wheel off

Thanks for looking let me know the consensus !

Have you taken a good look at the wheel bearing?

Haha I had an eagle vision back in the day. That thing was a front end suspension disaster.

When you drive the car, does it feel like it's shaking to the front and back? That's what I felt when I had to replace the axles. It looks like an axle problem, but don't take my word for it.

Re: 92 Eagle Summit wheel wobble videos [YouTube]

The front end is shaking, not the rear, kinda a side-to-side thing.

yeah it's funny when the wobbles are in synch (i go around a turn on the highway and the outer wheel moves ahead a notch), then suddenly it almost seems like the wobble is gone, but damn, when they are opposing - AAAAAhh disaster, like a circus act.

tightening a few bolts here and there has helped, I think I'm out of alignment too, but no toe noticeable really

it's $60 per axel, problem is I would have to do the job in one day because i have to drive everyday. sucks

Axle changes aren't hard, but if you run into a problem, then you're screwed. It's a bolt on job and some lube. Well mine was anyways, but the vision's axles are easily accessible.

Re: 92 Eagle Summit wheel wobble videos [YouTube]

Can you video the end of the hub with the wheel off?

The axle itself looks like its ok, the C.V. will show some wobble, but its only a boot over the joint itself. If the joint was so badly damage i was wobbling it would also be making a lot of noise.

What it looks like is you have either some very badly worn bearings, which would also make a lot of noise.
Or, and this is simple you might laugh, you have a badly bent wheel, and or and out of round tyre.

Re: 92 Eagle Summit wheel wobble videos [YouTube]

Yeah I've heard the tire thing before, I'm pretty convinced it's not that only because the wobble was there when I had sport rims on it (which, ahem are going on soon enough, this global warming winter is over).

As in bearing you mean that circular thing packed with all the grease that was lying in the driveway in the sand? just kidding but i did buy some bearing grease for when I pull the hubs again.

I think I'll go for the axel replacement soon enough, i read that they go right at about 130K and I'm at 136.

Back in '01 I was driving a ford probe one of my friend's, I drove through a toll booth after flying on the I-90, shifted into first and "pam!" I thought I broke a fan belt or something, it was the freakin axel.

...."Fraud Probe"
