The people on this board have been very helpful over the years. I finally bought an Oldsmobile Aurora (2001) to replace my 95 Cutlass Supreme. My Cutlass still runs well with over 320000kms on it. I've taken good care of it, and now a new owner will get some more life out of her.
Remember this: Cars are cars. You have to take care of them and make repairs to them on a regular basis. There are known problems with the 3.1L engine (Intake manifaold gasket, head gasket) and with the T460E transmission. However, many import and domestic cars of the same year have their share of problems too. The nice thing, is that you can get parts cheap to fix a Cutlass and a good used engine with 150000kms on it can run you about $550.00 from a local wreckers, and a used tranny with 150000kms can run you about $350.00. Good luck to all of you with your Cutlasses! |

Re: Thanks to everyone!!!
I know I won't be liked for this, but GM should have dropped Chevrolet and kept Olds. The only cars any good in Chev are the Camaro & Corvette. I really can't see myself in an Aveo or a Cobalt that rusts out after a year.
The buick Allure/Lacrosse is an awesome car! |
