How not to replace your radiator

Finally it's a balmy -5 outside on my day off, and I just got in from replacing my radiator. Today was not the day to do it, because i learned all too well that aluminum rads are very good at transferring heat away from your extremeties. I also made two annoying discoveries as I was cleaning up: 1) The new rad came with new hardware for the transmission cooler lines which i didn't use. No leaks as yet. 2) The new rad did not come with new rubber mounts. So, the next warm day I get to rip it all back out and put the feet on. Blast.

You did right - the new hardware usually is slighty off so leaks - I did use it and had to put the old stuff back on! Yep - rubber was bad under mine too but good enough to get by.
Get new rubber mounts before replacing the radiator!
