1996 Tranny problems

I have a 1996 G C L 5.2 4x4 the transmission is bucking between first and second gear. After that it runs through all the gears fine and also down shifts fine. I checked the fluid add a little but it still does the same thing. Truck has 167000 and runs Great. At 115000 had a rebuilt transmission installed and no problems up till now. I am at a loss when it comes to transmissions HELP.

Thanks EKM

Try a flush and fill. Change the filter. Adjust the bands. SJ

I am handy with motors but trannys not so good. How do you go about adjusting the bands. I know what you mean but just don't know how to do it.

Re: 1996 Tranny problems

You may want to get it done at a shop. Also if possible use synthetic transmission fluid. SJ
