Welcome to AF. Get the code read and post back. You may also want to check the fuel pressure at the rail and post back the engine size also.

this is funny and youre the reason why i registered too...i also bought a '97 achieva couple months ago...and last week the "check gauges" came on..i ignored it...cause i got ok...but next day it was still on n i drove it for like 10mins..noticed too that my gas was on E..but a lil above it n on it...not on it n below..so i thought it would be ok..i was wrong..stopped at stop sign..n when i went to pull out it sputtered n wouldnt accellerate but i was able to creep like 2 mph for a whole block so i could turn n get off busy street..then it died..but i was glad it got outta traffic...tried to start it..it wouldnt..so i got couple gals gas...it started up fine..."check gauges" light went off..so i thought the prob was over..but today it died on me twice like 5mins apart..the check gauges light aint on this time n plus i have plenty of gas too...but the odd thing is it all happened turning right...so i dont know, but...the ets light is on on mine by choice cause when its turned on my car acts funny stopping..i barely tap on brakes n it either grips too hard n pulls whole rear end down n makes loud ass noise or it grips n keeps slipping n regripping..i dont know whats wrong with it..but i think its the rear brakes...but if you want the light to turn off...its the switch to the left of steering wheel...trac ctrl

Re: ran 97 olds out of gas

Welcome to AF. Your description, as hard as you have tried, is difficult to understand. I would have a pro drive this, it could be the tcc solenoid issue, based on the shudder? In the future start a new thread, your issue is different.
