Converting a 4WD to a 2WD, possible?

hello all. i have a 1998 jimmy 4wd that i am considering converting to 2wd. i've considered a complete frame/drivetrain swap. i'd really like to keep the work to a minimum. i've also thought about just swapping out the front suspension components, but this looked like i'd have to swap the all the crossmembers and mounting brackets which are welded to the frames. not only am i tired of all the 4wd problems i'm having, i'd really like to lower my jimmy. i'm really not much of the offroad type anyway. any thoughts or suggestions or maybe some feedback from someone who's done this before would be greatly appreciated.
