did the 95 SHO come with keyless remotes?

It has so many other options loaded I figure it must have had them at one time..

If so do I need a special serial numbered remote like with some cars or can I just use a remote for the Taurus.....

Re: did the 95 SHO come with keyless remotes?

Does your SHO have the keypad on the driver's door? If so, chances are very good that you have remote keyless entry with RF key fobs. I think pretty much all the SHOs had remote keyless entry.

A remote for a Taurus of the 1995 model year should be able to be programmed to your car.

Re: did the 95 SHO come with keyless remotes?

Looks like you should check for the electronic door lock control processor. The electronic door lock control processor is located under the package tray in the luggage compartment on sedan models. The factory service manual certainly implies that you will have the keypad on the door if you have the keyless entry remote key fobs as well.

From the factory service manual for 1995:

"To program (or reprogram) keyless entry remote transmitters (15K601) into the electronic door lock control processor, perform the following steps:

"1. NOTE: The electronic door lock control processor erases all previous keyless entry remote transmitters from memory when the keyless entry remote transmitters are programmed or reprogrammed. The electronic door lock control processor can store up to four keyless entry remote transmitters in memory.

" Turn ignition switch (11572) to RUN or ACC position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector (C4) (a two-pin connector taped to the wire assembly can be reached by removing the left hand luggage trim panel). All doors should lock then unlock. Remove shorting pin.

"2. Press any button on keyless entry remote transmitters. All doors should lock then unlock, to verify that keyless entry remote transmitters have been programmed.

"3. NOTE: If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter). If door locks still fail to respond, go to «Pinpoint Test B» .

" Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock then unlock.

"4. Check operation."

If youre SHO is equipped with remote keyless entry (all should be), you need a remote with the following info:

FCC: GQ43VT4T
DOC: 1470 K763
TRW Inc. 3165189

Re: did the 95 SHO come with keyless remotes?

These instructions will work on Taurus models, 93 - 95:

Turn ignition to RUN or ACC. Momentarily jump pins in programming connector located in LR quarter panel area. All doors will lock then unlock to confirm programming mode. Press any button on 1st transmitter. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. Press any button on 2nd transmitter (up to 4 transmitters total possible). Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Re: did the 95 SHO come with keyless remotes?

On some of the earlier Taurii, the plug was located above/behind the glove compartment. You had to remove the glove compartment door, then the connector was accessible.
