aftermarket stereo install help

Bought an 03 impala, and DEFINITELY need to replace the stock stereo.

Im hearing conflicting things about how to do it. Can anyone shed some light on exactly what sort of wiring harness I need?

If I can buy a simple harness, and avoid the $80 one, that would be highly preferred.

I dont really care about losing the door chime, if thats the only problem that will come from removing the stock stereo.

My car is a base model, and does not have onstar.
