shift/tranny question

Hi everyone,

I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee with the 4.0 straight 6 and the Quadratrac 2 AWD system.

My question/concern is when I accelerate and it sifts into 2nd gear and then I let off the gas it kind of thunk/bucks or kicks Not very hard but it is there. Ironically the actual kick force is not the same all the time and if driving normally "accelerate through 1-2-3 ect. it doesn't do it." It only does it if I'm in 2nd gear and let off the gas.

I have not had the tranny/transfercase fluid or differential fluids changed yet but wonder if that would help at all or am I looking at a worst case bad tranny situation?

Thanks to all,

Joe
