Question my intrigue problems

my 1999 oldsmobile intrigue is having some electrical problems . ie gages spiking etc head lights flickering.... odomiter and trip meters flash and trip will reset ... clock is loosing time....... also there is a slight chug when you are coasting between 40 and 50 mph. I'm not sure but I believe it is the 3.5.

I hope someone can help me out

One thing I forgot to mention is that sometimes it is a hard start where it'll rev but not catch ..... I then Have to turn the key on and off several times and try turning it over again.

Re: my intrigue problems

Headlights flicker = alternator and/or bad/corroded connections. There was a new alternator design for the Intrigue due to the magnetic field collapsing due to vibration (very bizarre thing).

-I would have the alternator replaced first.

The rest of that crap is probably ignition switch.

Do a search on this forum for both issues.

Re: my intrigue problems

before you replace it, go to autozone, or whatever parts retailer is in you area, and have them test it. most will test it, and batery, for free.
